AUSTRIA CONCLUDES ALBANIA-EU SAA AGREEMENT RATIFICATION PROCEDURES 19. June 2008

After conclusion of approval cycle by both Chambers of Parliament of Austria, respectively The Lower Chamber on May 8, 2008 and the Higher Chamber on May 21, 2008, President of Austria Mr. Heinz Fischer has signed the Stabilization-Association Agreement (SAA) with Albania.

According to the sources, that was the last stage of ratifying process of SAA Agreement by Austria, thus concluding all internal legal procedures.

As far as SAA Agreement ratification of Albania with European Union, it appears that until now, the agreement has been ratified by 20 countries: Latvia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, Sweden, Hungary, Lithuania, Spain, Ireland, Luxembourg, Great Britain, Estonia, Finland, Holland, Italy, Denmark, Malta, Czech Republic, Cyprus and finally Austria.
