Energex 2008, 6th to 10th July, Vienna United against climate change 15. January 2008

In the fields of energy and climate change, world-wide cooperation between the economy, technology and politics is particularly desirable. Because of this, the IEF (International Energy Foundation) has founded the Energex congress series.

The successful Energex congress series will take place for the 13th time from 6-10th July 2008, this time in Vienna's Hofburg.  Energex 2008 has the motto "Energy for Human Development and the Protection of the Environment”. Scientists from Europe, the USA, China and India, along with representatives from international organisations such as UNIDO, OPEC, IIASA, IAEA and IEA are represented on organising and scientific committees. The congress is endorsed by the organisations UNIDO, IIASA, UNEP, as well as the European Commission. 

The congress, which is highly respected in professional circles, will be held under the patronage of the Austrian Federal President Dr. Heinz Fischer. The Honorary Commitee also brings together top representatives of the Austrian political and economic scenes. Following a youth caucus, the last day of the congress will see an international media meeting on the congress and on energy issues.
