Family-run, Viennese firm Ludwig Reiter produces shoes of the very highest quality to classic designs. International film, opera and theatre productions also use Ludwig Reiter shoes.

 

Viennese shoemaker, Ludwig Reiter , has stood for the highest quality and chic design for 125 years, producing the most exquisite footwear. Founded in 1885, the company is now managed by the fourth generation of the family. Ludwig Reiter produces both its own range as well as shoes for international labels such as Baldessarini, Helmut Lang and Michalsky.

The shoe producer provides footwear for opera, theatre and film productions. For example, Ludwig Reiter boots were worn by Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino’s Oscar-winning film, “Inglourious Basterds”. Opera and theatre productions on the list of Ludwig Reiter include “Rigoletto” in Salzburg, plays at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and the Verdi opera “Un giorno di regno” at this year’s festival in Montepulciano.

In addition to welted shoes in classic Vienna or Budapest styles, there is a wide range of high-quality leisure footwear, fine leather goods and other accessories on offer. Around 30,000 pairs of shoes are handmade every year by the 40 staff. Most models are also available as individual custom orders.

Ludwig Reiter has 18 stores in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, as well as partner shops in the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, the USA, China and Japan. Annual revenues are around EUR 15 million.
