Since the terry towelling manufacturer
Vossen
was taken over by textile group Linz Textil six years ago, Vossen has performed well from its base in Jennersdorf, Burgenland. Despite global economic turbulence, the company managed to increase turnover last year from EUR 24 million to EUR 28.5 million. Profits also reached an all-time high.
This is a pleasing development for the company which has been on the market for 85 years and is also a testament to the effectiveness of Vossen’s strategy. 2 years ago the entire production facility in Jennersdorf was modernised in the course of a restructuring.
Linz Textil
invested over EUR 3 million in machinery, product innovation and a new marketing concept. Vossen continues to be far and away the most famous towel brand in the German-speaking world.
In 2010 the company is set to invest again – this time it is looking to improve energy efficiency and environmental protection. Vossen has 250 employees in its original plant in Jennersdorf and its sewing works in Hungary and produces mainly for export. An impressive 70% of production goes to Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, the Middle East and increasingly also to eastern Europe.
