SERIES: EXPORT WINNERS 2010 – Waagner-Biro Stahlbau AG 13. July 2010

Since 1994 the Federal Economic Chamber and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth have been awarding "Export prizes" to Austria's most successful export firms. This year the prize in the Industry category went to Waagner-Biro Stahlbau AG.

Waagner-Biro Stahlbau AG is part of the worldwide Waagner-Biro Group which has provided top-level engineering expertise in steel and mechanical engineering for 150 years. The company was formed in 2005 by merging the areas of steel and glass technology, bridge construction and fitting, and in 2009 managed to increase revenues by 36% to EUR 141.9m.

Waagner-Biro is considered a major player in the field of steel and glass technology in modern architectural steel construction. As a complete provider in steel bridge construction, Waager-Biro is the world’s number 2 for system bridges. One relatively new business field is movable roofing solutions.
